A Record Book is a completed to reflect on a 4-H Member's yearly work by documenting their skill development, learning experiences and growth in 4-H. It is not a membership requirement, but is a great thing to do!

Important Record Book Competition Dates:
PRE-REQUIREMENTS: June 30
PRE-REQUIREMENTS: June 30
- CLUB: Submit the Club Intent to Submit Form
- FAIR: Submit Online Registration
- STATE: Submit Intent to Submit for the senior members who plan to submit to State Level competition
- July 8: Books Due to Club to TBD for review.
- July 16: Record Book Reviewers return books to Homesteaders to make corrections before submitting them for Fair or County review.
- Saturday, July 22: Member Drops off Record Book at the Santa Clara County Fairgrounds (Tully Rd & Monterey Hwy) for Fair Competition. More info is here: http://www.thefair.org/entries.cfm#
- Mid-August (TBD): Member drop off book to County for Review (provide address) or gives to Record Book Leaders by TBD.
- TBD: Club Leaders pick up reviewed books from County and return to you to make corrections for State
- October 27: Member sends books to State (mailed or sent electronically for online books) so it’s received no later than this date!
- Mid-January 2018: Results released, members notified
There is a new record book cover! In addition to the traditional green record book with white writing, there is now gold-foiled cover! (See picture on right) It is made to be very durable with a waterproof vinyl cover and chipboard frame.
